Lupus is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that can affect various parts of the body. It typically affects the skin, joints, blood, heart, lungs and kidneys. There is no cure for lupus, but the disease can be treated.
While lupus can lead to suffering, pain and fatigue, it's often difficult to obtain Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. Lupus is a disease that cannot be easily supported by medical evidence such as X-rays; therefore, if lupus has affected your ability to function or perform ordinary tasks, you may be entitled to SSDI or SSI benefits.
It's important that your medical records document a pattern of pain, chronic fatigue and other symptoms that have impacted your ability to function.
Call or email an experienced attorney with our firm to discuss your potential lupus disability claim. We are prepared to answer your questions about your eligibility — or any other questions you may have about an SSDI or SSI claim.
